Location

Glen Muir Lodge is one of a handful of privately owned lodges situated within the Great Glen Water Park. Although it is within the park itself, the management, and overall care of Glen Muir Lodge is completely separate. Guests of Glen Muir Lodge, can access on-site facilities but these are run independently of our lodge and management company.

 

Glen Muir Lodge is located on the banks of Loch Oich which is a freshwater Loch in the Highlands of Scotland. Loch Oich forms part of the Caledonian Canal and lies This narrow lies between Loch Ness and Loch Lochy in the Great Glen. It is fed by the River Garry from the West, and feeds the River Oich from its North end

 

Next to Glen Muir Lodge, is the Great Glen Way, the coast to coast route for walkers and cyclists which goes from Fort William to Inverness along the banks of the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness.

 

 

The InverGarry steam railway is next door with interesting displays detailing the local history, a platform and steam engine available to view.

 

A short drive away is the village of Invergarry which has a small shop and off-license, whilst there are lovely hotels serving a selection of beautiful food all year round. Fort Augustus, a charming village which sits at the bottom of Loch Ness, is only 8 miles away (approx 15 mins by car).

As Glen Muir Lodge sits on the banks of Loch Oich, there is direct access to Loch Oich with mooring available as well as an on-site independent water/ outdoor Active Sports company.

For winter activities make sure you get involved with skiing, snowboarding and mountaineering at Anoch Mor and Ben Nevis, all within easy reach. 

Further afield is the lovely town of Fort William and other incredibly popular tourist attractions such as the famous "Harry Potter" Glenfinnan viaduct
